HLF Youth Rise Initiative: Catalyzing Change in Samburu County
The Hezena Lemaletian Foundation launched the HLF Youth Rise Initiative in Milimani Village, Samburu County, in January 2024 to empower youth through mentorship and environmental stewardship. The program focused on leadership, personal development, and anti-drug abuse awareness, alongside hands-on climate action through community clean-ups and conservation efforts. Strong community participation led to the formation of a youth-led volunteer group to sustain clean-ups, tree planting, education, and advocacy. This initiative marks the beginning of a long-term youth empowerment strategy, leading toward the 2026 Samburu Youth Symposium.
