In 2024, Hon. Sen. Amb. Hezena Lemaletian made history as the host of the African Women Audacity Conference, a landmark event that brought together trailblazing women leaders, activists, policymakers, and changemakers from across the continent.
Organized under the theme “Women Who Win in Africa,” the conference was a powerful platform for dialogue, strategy, and empowerment—aimed at reshaping the future of African leadership through a gender-inclusive lens.
As the Founder and Executive Director of the Hezena Lemaletian Foundation, Sen. Hezena’s selection as the host was a testament to her relentless commitment to gender equality, youth inclusion, and transformative leadership. She used the platform to spotlight the pressing need for women’s representation in political spaces, access to education for girls, and the dismantling of cultural and economic barriers that hinder women’s progress.
Women Who Win in Africa is a movement dedicated to empowering African women to lead change, shape policies, and build legacies through action and civil discourse.
Our Mission: To close the gender gap by promoting inclusive policies, educational access, economic empowerment, and leadership representation.
Our Vision: A continent where African women are equally represented and their voices are valued in all sectors of society.
Our Goal: To drive gender equality through education, leadership development, advocacy, and cultural transformation.
Through keynote speeches, panel discussions, and action-oriented workshops, the conference created space for bold ideas, courageous conversations, and the celebration of African women’s audacity to lead. Sen. Hezena’s leadership as host brought a unique energy—one grounded in authenticity, advocacy, and lived experience.
Her voice echoed a powerful message: when African women are empowered, entire communities rise.
